Since 2004, Cleddau FM has been undertaking regular restricted service licence broadcasts to the communities of Pembroke, Pembroke Dock and Neyland.

These RSL broadcasts have allowed our volunteers and members of the local community to tell their stories, share their thoughts and interact with each other through a medium which creates pictures unlike any other.

Over the last number of broadcasts, Cleddau FM has introduced the concept of community media to Pembrokeshire.

There is a fantastic opportunity in Pembrokeshire to nurture and develop community media, for the benefit of all. Pembrokeshire, as a county benefits from a naturally close knit community. Within that, are smaller distinct communities well suited to the development of community radio such as the Milford Haven Waterway.

Initially, this is where the Cleddau Community Media will be concentrating its efforts to develop a community media organisation in Pembrokeshire. We already have a base from which to work, at The Marconi Centre, Llanreath.

Training, programme production and a committment to short term broadcasts will allow Cleddau Community Media and Cleddau FM to meet its goals of greater community cohesion, increased media literacy and a more reasearch to demonstrate the need for a community radio station in the local area.
